Lynn Gilchrist has lived in Sturgeon Bay and painted the Door County peninsula since the mid-1970’s. One of the founding members of the Sturgeon Bay Art Crawl which debuted in 2007, Gilchrist exhibits widely and is an active presence in the local arts community. She is represented by Idea Gallery, Egg Harbor, WI.

Gilchrist is known for her lively landscapes, still lifes, and figurative work, painted in acrylics and oils.

The artist paints en plein air as well as from her imagination, infusing her canvases with vibrant color. She immerses in herself in nature and uses her running and walking explorations as ssubject matter. Gilchrist’s new work depicts the woods of her imagination in a graphic style, often implementing stencils she designs and cuts.

Gilchrist loves the mysteries of the woods and waters that she works to save.
